José Álvaro Osorio Balvin, known professionally as J Balvin, is a Colombian singer from Medellin. His music is primarily reggaeton, but he also works with genres like electronica, house music, trap, and R&B. He got his musical inspirations from rock groups such as Metallica and Nirvana. His breakthrough came with the single “6 AM” featuring Puerto Rican in 2016. He is well known for his hits such as “Ginza”, “Bobo”, “Safari”, “Sigo Extranandote” and “Mi Gente”. J Balvin continues to sing almost all his songs in Spanish language.
