Joseph William Gilgun is an English actor from Chorley, Lancashire. He is well-known for his roles as Eli Dingle in “Emmerdale”, Woody in the film and TV spin-offs “This Is England”, and Rudy Wade in “Misfits”. For his incredible acting in “Misfits” he got two awards: Virgin Media TV Awards in the category Best Newbie and SFX Awards in the category Breakout Star.
The “Misfits” star has some great tattoos on his arms. Every single tattoo has its own story, emotions and memories. His tattoos are more than just inked pictures – they represent a story of his life. His biggest tattoo is probably a magpie and the words “ab imo pectore” (Engl.: from the bottom of my heart) inked on his chest.
After shooting “Misfits” the number “23456” – his official actor number – was tattooed on his chest.
On his right arm you will find the words “YOU’RE ALL IN IT SO BE PROUD” (producer Mark Herbert said it to the actors before the screening) and “I ain’t gonna work on Maggies farm no more”. You will find many other tattoos on his body, the meaning of which is known only to Gilgun.
